Skills
A skill is a reusable method for a specific kind of work, such as analyzing material, creating content, handling files, or publishing to a platform.
- Open Plugins, then switch to Skills.
- Browse built-in, installed, and discovered skills.
- Install or enable the skills you need. Import custom skills only from a trusted local directory.
- Describe the goal and constraints in your task. T-Agent matches the request to available skills.

Good practice
- Prefer skills with a clear source and purpose.
- Review the output against the task goal, especially when it uses external data or prepares an external action.
Skill states
| Status | Meaning | Management guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in | Bundled read-only skills that are always available | Read the description and describe your task |
| Installed and enabled | Can participate in task execution | Keep enabled and review results periodically |
| Installed but disabled | Kept locally but excluded from current execution | Enable when its capability is needed |
| Discovered externally | Found in an existing directory but not yet imported | Review the source and content before importing |
| Custom directory | An external skill path added by the user | Add trusted directories only; removing a directory makes its skills unavailable |
Disabling or deleting a skill does not remove completed tasks, but later tasks can no longer use it. Before deleting a custom skill, check whether a scheduled task, plugin workflow, or team process depends on it.
The web version also provides a skill library. Open it from Plugins in the sidebar.
